With that, the regular season is over. Since November, teams across the OK Conference have been fighting for conference titles and momentum toward the playoffs. The Eagles and the Wildcats played an epic overtime thriller back in late January that saw Wayland pull out a 59-53 victory. Tonight, the second game of the series was just as thrilling. Grand Rapids Christian finishes the year at 15-5 overall, and they were led by 26 points from Kobe Bufkin. Evan May also gave the Eagles 12 points in the win. For Wayland, they were led by 18 points from Cory Ainsworth.

The Wolverines finished their perfect OK Silver conference season with a nine-point victory over the Squires. After a 1-5 start to the season, Godwin has rolled off fourteen straight wins and they are back playing the typical basketball that they have been known for over the past decade. They have a first round bye in the districts, and they will take on the winner of South Christian and Kelloggsville on Wednesday.

Forest Hills Northern 60 Northview 46
The Huskies of Forest Hills Northern entered tonight’s regular season finale with an unblemished record. They hit the road to take on Northview, with a chance to wrap up an outright OK White title. They were able to take care of business, with their nineteenth double digit victory of the season. Ethan Erickson led all scorers with 18 points for Forest Hills Northern, and senior Trent Summerfield chipped in 16 points. After a remarkable regular season, FHN hopes to make a magical playoff run, and it begins on Monday against Rockford.

The Big Reds capped off their OK Black Championship campaign with a dominant victory over Fruitport on Friday night. After a 4-3 start, the Big Reds have now won 14 straight games. Coach Keith Guy’s Big Reds are playing their best basketball heading into Monday night’s playoff matchup against Grand Haven.

The Eagles finished their strong regular season with their eighteenth win on Friday night. They completed their 11-1 OK Red Championship season with a fourteen point victory. Payton Carney led the way with 12, and Davis Magsig added 10 for the Eagles. They begin district play on Monday against Zeeland East. West Ottawa was led by Tanner Wiegerink with 10, and they begin district play against Jenison. These two could potentially meet again in the district finals.
