The Rangers are rolling as the playoffs approach.
The Forest Hills Central Rangers played a nearly perfect game on Friday, led by the usual suspects, including Jr. Mitch Wilkinson. Pictured here making a high percentage shot from the baseline.
Wilkinson along with classmate Jimmy Scholler provided most of the offense in the first half (14 and 17 respectively). The lead over the Bengals from Ottawa Hills would be 20 points at the intermission. The second half would be much like the first, as the first man off the bench for Coach Kyle Carhart, Tate Hallock would drop in 8 of his 9 points, while Scholler added 9 more to finish his night with 26 points. The Bengals were paced by Jr. Power Forward Damion Cochran (14 points off the bench). Ottawa Hills shooting guard Jr. Michael Hawkins added 9 points. Coach Derrick King has a young talented squad and feel the future is bright for the Black and Orange.
Next week will be the final week of the regular season. With all of the weather we have experienced be sure to check the Michigan Sports Radio Weekly Round Up to see what the schedule holds for your favorite team. Spoiler Alert, there are games EVERY DAY except Sunday (2/17) that involve area teams. Ottawa Hills will play Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, while the Rangers play on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
District action begins on Monday March 25th for the Bengals. They will play the 7:30 game at Wyoming. The Rangers will have to wait until Wednesday March 27th to play the winner of the Rockford vs Forest Hills Northern opening round game. Their District playoffs will be hosted by Greenville.
