Basketball was back in full swing on Tuesday night, as nearly every team in the area hit the hardwood. For some, it was their first game in over a week. Others saw tonight as a start to a packed week of basketball with three games on the table.

South Christian 77 Wyoming 70

Can anyone stop the Sailors? After a 1-2 start drew some concerns, South Christian has won 10 of 11, including the last eight games. Tonight’s win over the Wolves completes the season sweep, and give South Christian a 1.5 game lead over Grand Rapids Christian in the OK Gold with just four league games remaining.

Byron Center 66 Parchment 44

Flint Hamady 94 Ottawa Hills 49

Forest Hills Central 85 Greenville 46

The Rangers were one team that was hit particularly hard by the weather last week, as they hadn’t played since January 25th. It appears that Coach Carhart’s bunch shook off the rust early in this one, as Forest Hills Central dominated Greenville in a road OK White battle. In under twenty minutes of action, senior Jimmy Scholler had an impressive stat line of 13 points, 11 assists and 5 rebounds. Mitch Wilkinson hit nine field goals, including four three-pointers to lead all scorers with 29 points.

Hamilton 45 Holland 37

Zeeland West 68 Zeeland East 56

Godwin Heights 69 Hopkins 63

The Wolverines are another team that has now won nine consecutive games. A 1-5 start brought out many critics of Coach Whittemore’s bunch, but they have surely proved them wrong. Hopkins has played Godwin Heights the closest in league play, as they also played a 50-48 contest in early January. De’Amontae Clark led the way with 30 for Godwin Heights. The Wolverines are outpacing the field in the OK Silver, as they are now 7-0 in conference play. Hopkins now falls to 3-2 in the league, good for third place behind Godwin and Northpointe Christian (5-1).

Hudsonville 68 Caledonia 54

Northpointe Christian 74 Calvin Christian 41

Middleville 67 Wayland 53

Isaiah Guenther scored 29 points, including a remarkable 16/19 from the free-throw line to carry Middleville over Wayland. It was the Trojans’ first win since December 5 when they beat Hastings, and only their second the entire season. The win also snapped an eight-game losing streak against Wayland that dated back to January 2015.

Kenowa Hills 53 Fruitport 43

Allendale 59 Spring Lake 55

West Ottawa 41 Grand Haven 39

The Panthers continue to find a way to play their style of basketball, and with success. This is the third time this season, and the second in a row, that West Ottawa emerged victorious while scoring less than 50 points. On the season, opponents average just 44.8 points per contest, but more impressively they have held nine of their thirteen opponents to 50 or less.

Sparta 52 Comstock Park 40

Northview 65 Lowell 59

Unity Christian 69 Holland Christian 64

Another incredibly hot team in the area right now is Unity Christian. Since losing to South Christian on December 21, the Saders have reeled off nine straight wins. Tonight’s win completes a key season sweep over Holland Christian, who was just a game behind in the OK Green. Unity now holds a two game lead with four games to play.

GR Catholic Central 82 West Catholic 61

Forest Hills Northern 62 Cedar Springs 36

The Huskies won their fifteenth straight game to start the season, improving their OK White record to 7-0. Thirteen of their wins have come by 10+ points, so they truly have continued to prove their worth as the #1 rated team in the Remax-United Power Poll.

Forest Hills Eastern 56 East Grand Rapids 42
