The seventh week of the MHSAA regular season has come and gone. Before our Week 8 Coverage kicks into gear with the LIVE Preview Show Wednesday morning, let’s look at this past week’s Core Power Performance Impact Players of the Week.


Caden Broersma (Mona Shores): The Sailors narrowly defeated Jenison on Friday by a 49-42 score. Broersma was a huge reason why as he scored five touchdowns. He threw for one touchdown and rushed for four, including the game-winner with seventeen seconds to play.

Caleb Bronkema (Caledonia): The Scots defeated Grand Haven and Bronkema led the charge for the Scots on offense. He had 34 carries for 237 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground, and he also threw a 24-yard touchdown pass.

Cam Friend (Tri-County): The Vikings defeated Fremont on Friday night, and Friend’s 85-yard touchdown reception was the game-winner.

Jack Snider (Caledonia): The Scots’ defeated Grand Haven for their second win on Friday night. Snider hauled in a 24-yard touchdown pass from Bronkema in the fourth quarter, and he made the interception on Grand Haven’s late attempt to score.

John Shelton (East Grand Rapids): The Pioneers’ senior tailback helped a strong ground effort in their win over Middleville. He took 19 carries and turned them into 119 yards and three touchdowns.

Owen Burk (Allendale): Despite losing to West Catholic, Burk again showed why he is one of West Michigan’s best players. He rushed for 285 yards on the ground and he scored six total touchdowns in the loss.
