The sixth week of the MHSAA season is complete. Some teams punched their ticket to Week 10, while others saw their dreams shattered. Finally, let’s take a look at the Core Power Performance Impact Players of the Week:

 

Ben Dykstra (Hudsonville): The Eagles needed overtime to defeat Grandville last Friday. Dysktra’s 22-yard field goal would lift them to the 16-13 win.

Collin Herman (Rockford): The Rams dominated Caledonia 42-6 on Friday night, as the defense had little trouble stopping the Scots. Herman, a defensive lineman, recovered a fumble in the second half and returned it 31 yards to the house for a score.

Jack Schichtel (West Catholic): The Falcons knocked off undefeated Spring Lake last Friday. Schichtel hauled in six balls for 171 yards and two scores.

John Shelton (East Grand Rapids):  John Shelton gained 112 yards and scored two touchdowns on 24 carries for the Pioneers in their win over South Christian.

Marcus Cisco (Byron Center): The Bulldogs dominated Comstock Park and Cisco used his legs to power the effort. In the win, he had 15 carries for 237 yards and five touchdowns.

Trey Morgan (Freeland): The Falcons defeated Bullock Creek for their fifth win of the year on Friday. Morgan led the way defensively as he had 17 tackles including three for losses, and two pass breakups.

Zach Rodriguez (Newaygo): The Lions had no trouble in defeating Tri-County on Friday and the tailback Rodriguez spearheaded the attack offensively. He had 18 carries for 194 yards and four touchdowns in the win.
