The fifth week of the season is complete. Before we turn the page to Week Six, let’s wrap up our coverage by naming our Core Power Performance Impact Players of the Week:

Connor Swinehart (Newaygo): The Lions won at Fremont 55-7 on Friday night. Swinehart finished the game 12/14 for 205 yards and 5 touchdowns, all of which he accomplished in the first half.

Jack Dreyer (Freeland): The Falcons got their second victory in the final seconds/overtime this year when they faced Standish-Sterling. Dreyer’s clutch 35-yard field goal as time expired lifted them to a 17-14 win.

Jalen Broussard (East Grand Rapids): The Pioneers defeated Wayland to start 2-0 in league play. Broussard, the senior quarterback stepped up big time for East as he had 18 carries for 188 yards and two touchdowns to go along with an efficient 10/16 passing day that went for 98 yards and a score.

Kyle Nott (Jenison): The Wildcats knocked off previously undefeated Hudsonville thanks in large part to the mobility of their quarterback Kyle Nott. He used his legs to score a pair of touchdowns in the win.

Ryel Daye (East Kentwood): The Falcons got a big win over Grandville on Friday night and Daye stepped it up on the defensive end. He got an interception in the first half that set up a touchdown to pull Kentwood within two. In the fourth quarter, he got his second interception to seal the victory.

Zach Patin (West Catholic): The Falcons got a key win over Sparta with help from Patin on the ground. This was his best game of the season as he carried the ball 23 times for 149 yards and two touchdowns.
