The East Kentwood Falcons and West Ottawa Panthers have been two of the most explosive offenses in the OK Conference so far this season. Many expected this matchup of OK Red leaders to be an offensive shootout. These folks would be halfway correct as East Kentwood topped 50 points for the third straight contest. A surprise to many however would be that the Falcons defense would intercept Isaac Van Dyk twice and hold the Panthers to just seven points in a 56-7 defeat.
This game was a blowout from the beginning as the Falcons scored the first fifty-six points of the ball game. They were led by a strong game from quarterback Kyle Dent. Dent finished the game 10/16 for 148 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also recorded 12 carries for 83 yards and another touchdown. Two of these touchdown passes went to Ryel Daye who hauled in five total catches for 83 yards.
Star tailback Kionte Blakely had another stellar night for Kentwood as he had just 11 carries but he racked up 113 yards and two touchdowns. He also returned a kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown.
Late in this contest, West Ottawa finally scored when Van Dyk found Blake Bosma for a 13 yard touchdown pass. Van Dyk finished this one 7/16 for just 54 yards and a touchdown. The highlight for West Ottawa offensively was Max Voet, who had fifteen carries for 124 yards.
