After two tough weeks to open the season against Jackson Lumen Christi and Lansing Catholic, the West Catholic Falcons were ready to begin OK Blue play looking for their first win of the season. They took on Comstock Park, who had scored 66 points in their first two games, but they also had given up 89 points so they sat at 0-2. A strong start allowed for the Falcons to get ahead and stay ahead in a 35-14 victory.

Zach Patin opened the scoring with an 88-yard run. The extra point set West Catholic ahead 7-0. Patin had a huge night, as he rushed fourteen times for 215 yards and three touchdowns. He also caught two balls for 70 yards and a touchdown.

Nick Dorato scored West Catholic’s second touchdown as Spencer Zobro found him for a 47 yard score. Dorato finished with two catches for 44 yards and a touchdown. Zobro was 11 for 18 for 157 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. He also had six carries for twenty-five yards.

A strong effort hidden in defeat for Comstock Park was running back Cameron Martin. He had 29 carries for 160 yards and a touchdown. Comstock Park quarterback Chase Brown finished 18 for 31 with 127 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.

The Falcons now find themselves with a 1-2 record, and a 1-0 mark in league play. Next week, they are back in non-conference action as they face former City League foe Grand Rapids Christian. Comstock Park is now 0-3, 0-1 in the Blue, and they will try and get in the win column against Allendale.
