On Friday night, the Falcons of Freeland started their TVC-Central season against Swan Valley. Last year. the Falcons lost to Swan Valley in a narrow defeat. This year, the result was much of the same, but the margin was way different as the Vikings defeated Freeland 41-3.

Freeland took the lead to begin this contest as Jack Dreyer hit a 25 yard field goal. This was short lived however, as the Vikings drove the length of the field and Kyree Harris found the end zone from ten yards out.

The key turning point in this one was on the ensuing Freeland drive. The Falcons went 18 plays to reach the Swan Valley 10 yard line, but they eventually turned the ball over on downs. Swan Valley would score twice in the last few minutes of the half to expand the lead to 21-3.

In the second half, Swan Valley quarterback Alex Fries scored a pair of touchdowns. He paired a fourteen yard run with a 10 yard pass for his second and third touchdowns of the day. The Vikings’ lead would expand one last time as Kyree Harris found the end zone again to get the lead to 41-3.

Freeland now falls to 2-1 on the season and 0-1 in the TVC-Central. Next week, league play continues when the Falcons travel to Shepherd to take on the Bluejays. In each of the past eleven seasons, Freeland has defeated Shepherd, including 42-20 a season ago.
