The Allendale Falcons and Coopersville Broncos began their OK Blue campaigns against each other on Friday night. After a dominant performance against Greenville last week, Allendale’s Owen Burk was back at it again against the Broncos. After the lead changed hands throughout the first half, the Falcons scored all twenty second half points to win this one 41-24.

In the first quarter, Owen Burk scored a pair of touchdowns from three and twenty-eight yards out. Coopersville would respond with twenty-four unanswered points. Connor Helson hauled in a fourteen yard pass to start the scoring for Coopersville early in the second quarter. Just fifty seconds later, Nate Brodi stepped in front of a pass and returned it 56 yards for a touchdown. Vaughn VanTil made a 34 yard touchdown reception to give Coopersville a ten point lead. Just before the half, Burk found the endzone again to cut the margin to 24-21.

The second half scoring began with Allendale’s Adam Hotovy running it in from eleven yards out. In the fourth quarter, Owen Burk ran in two more scores from one and 46 yards out respectively. Neither team would score in the last minute and a half, leaving the final score at 41-24.

Allendale now sits at 2-1 on the season, with a 1-0 OK Blue record. Next week, they remain on the road against Comstock Park. For Coopersville, they fall to 1-2 and 0-1 in the OK Blue. They will hit the road to face Spring Lake next Friday night.
