The second week of the high school football season is complete. The Week 2 Core Power Performance Impact Players of the Week:


Cameron Martinez (Muskegon): The Big Reds won a huge game against Detroit King and the junior quarterback made a huge play late, scoring the game-winning touchdown.


Ethan Rose (Tri-County): The Vikings won their first game against Big Rapids and Rose played a key role. He had five carries for 121 yards, and also recorded six tackles and a sack at linebacker.


Ethan West (Cedar Springs): The Red Hawks ran all over Caledonia, and West led the charge. He rushed for 102 yards as well as two touchdowns in the victory.


Gio Weeks (Kent City): The Eagles knocked off Newaygo, and the senior tailback eclipsed 200 yards to go along with two touchdowns.


Isaac Van Dyke (West Ottawa): In an epic offensive showdown against Forest Hills Central, Van Dyke was the difference for West Ottawa. He finished 14/24 for 173 yards and a touchdown through the air, but he also used his legs to rush for four additional touchdowns.


John Shelton (East Grand Rapids): The Pioneers won their first game in 2018 behind Shelton’s two late touchdowns in the fourth quarter. His 13-yard run with 40 seconds left would be the game-winner.


Owen Burk (Allendale): The Falcons defeated Greenville on Friday night and Burk was the star of the show. He had 428 yards of total offense in the win. He was 3/3 passing the football for 55 yards. Running the football, Burk had 22 carries for 270 yards and two touchdowns. Finally, he hauled in six passes for 103 yards and two touchdowns.
