The Rockford Rams started the season slow on the offensive end, scoring just fourteen points in the first two weeks. Last week, they doubled their season total by putting up 24 points in a loss to Mona Shores. This Friday night, Rockford once again doubled their season offensive production by scoring 51 points in a 38-point victory over Caledonia.

Jason Whittaker started the scoring with a 14-yard touchdown pass to Chase Novak about halfway through the first quarter. The Scots responded with a touchdown by their quarterback, as Caleb Bronkema punched it in from four yards out, but the missed extra-point left the score at 7-6 Rams.

Maliq Thompson showed his shifty running ability with a trio of touchdowns in this contest, as he scored from one, fourteen and twenty-six yards on the ground. His compliment running the ball tonight was Jack Richardson, who scored two fourth quarter touchdowns on runs of 19 and 44 yards. This contest was never close as the Rams were able to move the ball at will all night long.

For the Scots, quarterback Caleb Bronkema added a pair of touchdowns to his season total, and he has quietly put together a strong season in his first year under center. Unfortunately, the team is now on a three-game slide, and looking up at the rest of the OK Red. Next week, they try to get back on the winning track when they host the Knights of Kenowa Hills in their homecoming contest.

Rockford improves to 2-2 with a much needed victory, and their playoff aspirations still remain viable. Next week, they will try to get above .500 when they face the Buccaneers of Grand Haven. Brock and the gang will be on the call at the Ted at approximately 6:30 LIVE on Michigan Sports Radio.
