Godwin Heights made the playoffs this season for the second straight season, and for the third time in school history. For the second straight season, Catholic Central were the first round opponent for the Wolverines, and for the second straight season, the Cougars knocked Godwin Heights out of the playoffs with a convincing shutout.

Catholic Central jumped out to a lead just forty-four seconds into the game as Nate Fugate rumbled seventy-six yards for a touchdown. Fugate was a part of the two-headed rushing attack for the Cougars as he also ran for a sixteen yard touchdown in the first quarter. Senior Antonio Strong chipped in three touchdowns in the first half, on scores of twelve, twenty-six and sixty-five yards. The Cougars offense was explosive in the first half, scoring forty-three points before the half.

The second half went by rather fast as Catholic Central had the running clock enforced throughout the whole second half. With the win, Catholic Central will advance to the MHSAA Division 4 Region 1 District 2 Finals when they host Allendale in a rematch from Week 3, a game in which Catholic Central won 35-20.
