The Rockford Rams are one of the hottest teams in the state of Michigan at this moment. After losing the first two games, the Rams have reeled off six consecutive wins, including all five conference matchups so far this season. Tonight, the Rams manhandled the Falcons of East Kentwood in a 45-7 blowout victory, giving Rockford a share of the OK Red title.

East Kentwood scored first to jump out to a 7-0 lead in the game’s first three minutes. After that, the Rams offense went to work as they reeled off 45 unanswered points. Running back Nolan Darby led in the scoring column as he recorded a pair of touchdowns in the win. Jason Whittaker, Nate Curtis and Austin Klein all also rushed for a single touchdown in the victory as well.

For East Kentwood, their bowl jeopardy is now in question as they are 4-4 on the season, with a road trip to Caledonia looming in Week Nine. The Falcons will enter this game favored, however even a win will not guarantee the Falcons a postseason berth. They will need some help, however a 5-4 record in the OK Red is usually indicative of a playoff berth.

Rockford, who formally clinched a playoff berth with tonight’s win, will have a chance to win the OK Red outright next week when they travel to Hudsonville. If the Rams lose, Hudsonville will share the OK Red title with Rockford, and it opens a potential opportunity for Grandville to win a share of the league crown as well. The biggest game of the OK Red season between the Eagles and Rams will be broadcast live on MSR next Friday at 7.
