On Senior Night in Grand Haven, the Buccaneers hosted the 6-1 Hudsonville Eagles. Much like every opponent that the Eagles have faced, with exception to Grandville, the Eagles took care of business in relatively routine fashion, dominating the Buccaneers 34-7.
The Eagles used a strong ground attack, as they rushed for all five of their scores. Senior tailback Dalton Agers played strong yet again as he accounted for three touchdowns on the ground, on runs of one, six and forty-seven yards. Accompanying this strong effort was senior quarterback Jack Mandryk, who added a pair of rushing touchdowns from thirty and forty-two yards.
Though the final score showed this game to be far out of hand, it was only 14-7 Hudsonville at the half. The Eagles played a sloppy first half in which they had two of their five drives end in fumbles. After they left the locker room at the half, Hudsonville played nearly flawless in the second half as they scored on their three complete drives of the half (they ran the clock out on their fourth drive).
With the win, the Eagles improve to 7-1 on the season, and will have a chance to earn a share of the OK Red Conference title with a win at home against Rockford next Friday. The Rams currently lead the conference by one game, but with a win Hudsonville will earn a share of the title, which could also be split with Grandville, who also sits at 4-1 in league play.
