Headed into the sixth week of the season, a handful of teams across the state of Michigan are trying to earn their sixth win to clinch an automatic berth to the playoffs. Freeland, one of those teams, was successful in securing a playoff berth as they scored the game’s final thirty-five points to take home a 35-7 win.

Shepherd started the game with a 24 yard touchdown run to take a 7-0 lead, but from there things just got worse for the Bluejays. Max Kubiak scored a pair of touchdowns for the Freeland offense, whose rushing versatility allowed four different players to carry the ball across the goal line.

Freeland has continued their dominance in the Tri-Valley Central this season as they are currently 5-0 in league play, and they are riding a fourteen game winning streak in league play. They have started to garner some attention across the state from media outlets as they are in Mick McCabe’s rankings for Division 5, and they have also been in the Remax United Power Poll multiple times this season. Next week, they will try to close in on their goal of a TVC-Central title when they take on Saginaw Swan Valley. For our West Michigan readers, Saginaw Valley hung with Zeeland East in their season opener this season, so this will be a formidable test for the Falcons.
