After bouncing back last week with their first win of the season, the Rockford Rams traveled to Caledonia Friday night looking for their first win of the conference slate. Behind key special teams plays and three touchdowns by tailback Nick Isley, the Rams defeated Caledonia 31-6.

In the first quarter, Nick Isley got Rockford on the board when he scored from one yard out. He would later score on runs of 48 and 25 yards in the second half to put the game away. Rockford scored their second touchdown as a result of a punt return by Jordon Brown, who ran 56 yards down the sideline for a score to put the Rams up fourteen. A 41 yard field goal by Eric Zebook put Rockford up 17 headed into the locker room.

Isley’s second touchdown on the first drive of the second half appeared to put the game away as Rockford led 24-0. The Scots responded with a touchdown however, as Michael Silveri found Ryan Mohl in the end zone for a touchdown. This would be the lone scoring play for the Scots. Isley’s third touchdown was at the 2:12 mark of the third quarter, and was the final touchdown of the ball game.

The Rams got a win on the road that brings them back up to the .500 mark, and they now hold a 1-0 OK Red record. For Caledonia, their slide continues as they have now lost three straight contests since their season-opening win against Fenton. Rockford will look to build off of their win when they take on Grand Haven next Friday. Caledonia will try and snap their skid in their final non-league game against Kenowa Hills.
