In their second game of the season West Catholic picked up where they left off in last week’s win, and they dominated Muskegon Heights 48-20.

The Falcons started out with a quick touchdown score in the air to jump out to a 7-0 lead, the first of five first half touchdowns. After a Muskegon Heights touchdown, quarterback David Fox found Aaron Hall for a 49 yard touchdown pass to balloon the lead to 8. West Catholic would score three more touchdowns in the half to take a commanding twenty-nine point lead heading into the locker room.

With a comfortable 35-6 lead at the break, West Catholic let up in the game’s final twenty-four minutes, allowing a pair of touchdowns by the Tigers offense.

West Catholic was led offensively by Alex Fortier, who rushed for 124 yards and two touchdowns on seventeen carries. David Fox was nine of sixteen for 193 yards and he threw for four scores, three of which found the hands of Sam Neville.

For the Heights in the loss, Kendrick hauled in seven catches for 141 yards and two touchdowns, a very strong performance on the offensive side of the ball.

Next week, West Catholic has a huge matchup as the reigning Division 5 State Champions will take on Zeeland West, the reigning Division 4 State Champions at home Friday night. In a game between two of the best teams in the state of Michigan, it will be two very powerful running teams facing off in an old-school ground battle in which the winner at the line of scrimmage will take home the victory.
