After the make, Rockford pushed the ball down the floor, but Jason Majerle’s game-winning attempt was off to the left, and the Eagles held on for the 58-57 win. Walled Lake Western Advances to Ford Field After Topping Lowell

In 2015, Walled Lake Western and Lowell battled in their season opener, a narrow 42-40 win by the Warriors. In last year’s semifinals, Lowell worked their way past Walled Lake to advance to the championship game with a 49-35 win. For the second straight year, Lowell and Walled Lake Western met in the state semifinals with a berth to the finals against Detroit King on the line. Some explosive offense by Cody White, a Michigan State commit, was enough for Walled Lake to reach the state finals. Two rushing touchdowns in the first quarter put the Warriors in control early. Cody White, who has spent time at quarterback and wide receiver throughout the season, accounted for two touchdowns in the first half, on two runs of 24 and 61 yards. At halftime, Walled Lake Western led 31-14, appearing well on their way to the title game. Walled Lake scored first to start the third quarter as Cody White hit Kam Ford on a 40 yard touchdown pass. It appeared over for Lowell as they trailed by twenty three points with just under ten minutes left in the third quarter. Just nineteen seconds after the touchdown pass, Lowell’s Nate Stephens burst through the hole for a fifty-four yard touchdown. Senior quarterback David Kruse added a pair of touchdowns, and with about eight minutes left, Walled Lake Western’s lead was cut...
