Michigan Sports Radio was
actually started as RamsRadio
in December of 2005, by Brock Konkle and Paul Stabile.
After working radio together for a year, they were having
a conversation one day and thought it would be a neat
experience for people to be able to listen to and support
their alma mater not only locally but anywhere around
the world.
After some research they
decided to start broadcasting games for Rockford as an
audiocast. Not only did they achieve their initial goal
but through their streaming company had the ability to
archive the games which meant now people can listen to
the game not only live but anytime they want. All
of a sudden it took off and other schools showed interest
in having their games audiocast, thus Michigansportsradio.com
was born.
Not only did this provide a unique experience
for the listeners but also after talking with several
marketing companies an advertising package was developed
which provides the advertiser with four means of advertising
exposure. When advertisers started complimenting on the
success of the exposure they received we knew we had
come up with a product, which appeals to everyone. Michigansportsradio
also donates a portion of their advertising dollar back
to the local high schools athletic programs.
The key players
to our team are as follows: |
Brock
Konkle
... graduated
from Rockford High School in 1983 followed by Hope
College in 1987. After being a teacher and coach for
ten years Brock decided to go into business for himself
by starting a screen printing company. He got his start
in broadcasting from Rick Berkey and has been broadcasting
high school sports for three years. He enjoys the opportunity
to give back to sports what he got out of it and is
privileged to provide this opportunity to the different
schools which are not part of our broadcast network. |
Paul Stabile
... spent
10 years performing a variety of play by play duties
in Cadillac and the Eastern Upper Peninsula. Paul has
covered all 4 major sports at the high school, college
and Ontario Major Junior A levels including some cable
tv broadcasts. Stabile even hosted the coverage
for the International 500 snowmobile race in Sault
Ste Marie. A career change brought about a 7 year hiatus from
broadcasting until being paired with Brock Konkle to
provide play by play for Forest Hills Schools last
year. That experience lead to helping Konkle in
the creation of Michigan Sports Radio.com in which
we hope this is only the beginning! |

starting with football and basketball at Flint Southwestern
and Swartz Creek. Ken then moved to West Michigan in
1977 where he began a long run as Assistant Principal
at Northview High School. During his time at Northview,
Ken was also very active supporting Northview Athletics
