Kent City Stays Unbeaten, Advances to District Finals

The Kent City Eagles, undefeated champions of the CSAA-Silver division, began their playoff push on Friday night when they faced Morley-Stanwood. This game was even broader than their regular season meeting, as Kent City won without much difficulty, 31-6. Running back Gio Weeks had himself quite the evening for Kent City. The junior had twenty carries for 102 yards and a pair of touchdowns. His touchdown carries were of two and fifteen yards respectively. Senior Cody Bowers also found the end zone for the Eagles, as he had ten carries for twenty three yards, including his one-yard touchdown. The Eagles completed zero passes in this win, recording 62 carries for 263 yards. Their defense also played strong as they help Morley-Stanwood to just 109 yards of total offense. With the win, the Eagles advance to the district finals for the second straight season. Despite being 10-0, they will hit the road next Friday night to take on Montague, who is also 10-0. Catholic Central Holds On For First Round Win Over Unity Christian

After falling in both 2014 and 2015, the Cougars dominated Unity in last year’s semifinals.
