In the third game of the season, the Catholic Central Cougars gave up eighteen points in a 56-18 victory over Allendale. In a pair of contests against teams from Detroit (Country Day and Loyola), the Cougars allowed a combined fifteen points. West Ottawa Keeps Pace in OK Red with Win over Hudsonville

The West Ottawa Panthers have been one of the surprise teams in West Michigan, as they have navigated through the “manageable” part of their schedule to a 3-1 record and a first place tie in the OK Red. Photo courtesy of Gary Balcom   In a battle of two OK Blue teams that have been very strong this season, both entered the game with just one loss on the year, the Falcons of West Catholic faced off with Coopersville. This was the first chance for Coopersville to prove that it had earned a seat at the big boy’s table in the OK Blue, and unfortunately they fell way short of reaching that mark. Though they may still have enough to reach the postseason, their OK Blue aspirations were severly damaged on Friday night in a 41-0 loss. The Falcons started the scoring just four minutes into the game as Zavon Scott found the end zone from seven yards out. This was his only carry of the night, but it was good enough to count for six points. Reigning Core Power Performance Impact Player of the Week Gaetano Vallone would then take over, as he threw for West Catholic’s next two touchdowns. His first toss was a thirty-five yard strike to Alex King, while his second was a 14 yard toss to Connor Bolthouse. Vallone would finish the contest 11 of 14 throwing the ball for 217 yards and two touchdowns. He was also the second leading rusher for the Falcons as he racked up thirty-two yards on seven carries. Alex Fortier added a pair of touchdowns in...
