Two of the best teams in West Michigan according to the Remax-United Power Poll, #9 Grandville and #10 Rockford squared off on Friday night in a battle for supremacy in the OK-Red. In a surprising fashion to many, the Rams dominated Grandville, recording a 27-0 shutout victory.

The Rams scored in each quarter of this win, as they got on the board just four minutes into this one as Connor White scrambled in for a three yard touchdown to put Rockford up seven. In the second quarter, Malik Thompson ran through the Bulldog defense for a 14 yard touchdown.

Rockford’s defense was stout all night long, and they even scored a touchdown in the third quarter. Marcus Remtema scooped up a fumble and returned it sixty yards to expand the lead to 20-0. The final quarter saw quarterback Drew Burieno find Logan Lee on a 19-yard strike to give Rockford its final lead, 27-0.

With the win, Rockford improves to 4-2, bolstering its chances to reach the postseason. They will be playing for first place in the OK Red next Friday night when they travel to Holland to take on West Ottawa, who has surprised many with their 5-1 start.
