The Rockford Rams entered Friday night’s contest at 2-2 on the season, though many would consider them one of the best 2-2 teams in the state given the teams they lost to (Lowell and Mona Shores). This week, they faced a Grand Haven team that has struggled this season to put points on the board. Coach Nelson’s bunch again struggled offensively on Friday as they yielded 39 points in a loss.

The first touchdown of the game was curtesy of Alex Miller, who returned a blocked field goal for 74 yards. The Bucs would then draw as close they would be all night after a 42-yard field goal was successful. Star tailback Maliq Thompson then began to take over as he scored three more touchdowns in this win, as he scored from 1, 22 and 22 yards out.

At the end of the third quarter, Jack Richardson scored from three yards out for another rushing touchdown, leaving the lead insurmountable. Adam Nelson’s 51 yard touchdown pass was a beautiful play for Grand Haven, though its affect on the final score was mute.

With the win, Rockford now sits at 3-2 on the season and 2-0 in the OK Red. Next week they have a huge matchup at Grandville, one team that is currently tied for the league lead. Brock Konkle and the gang will call this contest LIVE on MSR.
