Reed City Extends Streak against Tri-County

The Tri-County Vikings have suffered a bit in their addition to the CSAA-Gold. In the three seasons that they have been a member of the league, they posted a 7-20 rec0rd, including a 3-6 record last season. This year, the Vikings are more improved talent wise, but their record is struggling to prove that point. On Friday, they suffered a 54-6 loss to Reed City to extend their losing streak to six in a row, and ten of eleven. Last year, this game was not a contest as the Coyotes topped them 55-0. This season was barely more competitive, though the Vikings managed a touchdown this season. Bryce Hallman led the Vikings with 90 yards passing on 6/11 passing. Kyle Proctor led Tri-County in rushing yards as he turned six carries into 37 yards. Reed City completed just three passes, though two of them went for 30 yards a piece. Phillip James rushed for 100 yards in this Coyote victory, though he just logged six carries. Reed City was very efficient offensively in this contest, and they also took advantage of a fumble recovery at midfield. Reed City now improves to 4-1 on the season, 4-0 in the CSAA-Gold, and next week they take on Remus Chippewa Hills. For Tri-County, they drop to 0-5 on the season, 0-4 in CSAA-Gold, and they will take on the Tigers of Grant...

This week, they faced a Grand Haven team that has struggled this season to put points on the board. Coach Nelson’s bunch again struggled offensively on Friday as they yielded 39 points in a loss. The first touchdown of the game was curtesy of Alex Miller, who returned a blocked...

Freeland Bounces Back With Win Over Bullock Creek

Last week, the Freeland faithful was stunned as their boys lost their first regular season game in three seasons. This week, they tried to get back in the win column as they took on Midland Bullock Creek. There was little struggle for the Falcons in this contest, as they rolled to a 35-6 victory. Layne Morgeli started the game with a quick 80 yard touchdown run to give the Falcons an 8-0 within the game’s first minute. Before the end of the first quarter, Freeland struck again on a big play as Travis Bright and Jack Townsend connected on...

In the third game of the season, the Catholic Central Cougars gave up eighteen points in a 56-18 victory over Allendale. While this is a strong performance, it looks very weak compared to the other four contests. In a pair of contests against teams from Detroit (Country Day and Loyola), the Cougars allowed a combined fifteen points. In its last two games, against Forest Hills Eastern and this week against Spring Lake, the Cougars have yielded zero points. In five games,...

West Ottawa Keeps Pace in OK Red with Win over Hudsonville

The West Ottawa Panthers have been one of the surprise teams in West Michigan, as they have navigated through the “manageable” part of their schedule to a 3-1 record and a first place tie in the OK Red. This week, they travelled to Hudsonville to take on an Eagles team that was struggling early on in the season, but showed promise as of late. The typically potent West Ottawa offense (32.75 PPG), was slowed down a bit tonight, but their defense flexed their muscle in a 20-7 victory. Xavier Wade, one of the top wide receivers in West Michigan,...
