In Class A, Grand Rapids Christian and Kalamazoo Central, the two schools from the west side of the state, will face off Tuesday night in Lansing for a berth to Breslin Center for Friday’s semifinals. On December 28, West Ottawa and Grand Rapids Christian battled in the Muskegon Hall of Fame Classic. This game was one of the best challenges to Christian’s undefeated record this season as the Panthers were narrowly defeated 57-49. Grand Rapids Catholic Central vs Marshall in Girls Quarterfinal action

By Jordan Slocum Listen live Tuesday at 7 p.m. on Michigan Sports Radio as the Marshall Redhawks and Grand Rapids Catholic Central Cougars meet at Otsego High School in the quarterfinals of the MHSAA Class B girls basketball state tournament. The boys basketball playoffs have advanced to the regional stage, and as a result, the matchups start to get better. On Monday at Grand Haven, the Class A Region 2 Regional is going to take place and the second game will be an incredible battle of undefeated teams. Wayland Union Wins Boys Basketball District Championship

The last few years, Wayland’s boys basketball team had a run in with Godwin Heights early in the state playoffs. This year as a result of district realignment, these two teams will not meet until they reach Breslin Center. In the district final, the host Wildcats faced the Blackhawks of Fennville, who finished entered the contest with an 18-3 record. Led by senior Avery Hudson, Wayland came out victorious by a final score of 66-46. Most impressive throughout the night was the stout defense of Wayland.
