Core Power Performance Impact Players of the Year

Throughout the season, the Michigan Sports Radio team has honored players each week for their performance on the field by naming them Core Power Performance Impact Players of the Week. There have been 40 players and a handful of teams/position groups that have been honored throughout the season, and they can all be found here. West Catholic repeats as Division 5 state champions

The Falcon defense forced four turnovers on the first five Menominee drives en route to a 43-7 blowout victory. Throughout the season, West Catholic’s defense allowed more than three touchdowns just twice, as they allowed an average of 10.4 points per game. Catholic Central wins Div 4 state championship

Photo Courtesy of Louis Murray Check out the game in pictures:   The Cougars of Catholic Central, earned a hard-fought Division 4 State Championship win Friday night against the Yellowjackets of Birmingham Detroit Country Day. The 13-1 Cougars played stellar defense, like they did all season, to secure a 10-7 win. Catholic Central split the OK Blue Conference championship with Allendale and West Catholic this fall. The two schools split the four matchups, yet today’s game had the biggest playoff ramifications, as the winner would advance to Ford Field. West Catholic Pitches Shutout over Algonac; Advance to Fifth Straight Title Game

On Saturday, they took on the Muskrats of Algonac, who have been in the playoffs just four times in their program’s history.
