For Freeland football, blowout conference wins are becoming a habit. The Falcons took on Carrollton on Friday night, a team that had given up just six points in their first two games. Freeland exploited their defense en route to their third straight blowout victory, a 56-19 win.

After Carrollton scored in the first quarter to tie the game at seven, the Falcons responded with thirty-five unanswered points to blow the game wide open. Running back Jacob Kelsey found the end zone twice in the win, leading the team in touchdowns. The Falcons have shown a balanced running attack all year as they have had a different back lead them in rushing in each game so far. Week one leader Gahret Metiva scored once, as did Max Kubiak, Chris Bell, Tyler Shea and Zachary Townsend.

The Falcons appear to be strong favorites to win the Tri-Valley Central yet again this fall, and they will take the next step towards that next week when they host Alma. Also, there were technical difficulties that resulted in some difficulty during the Freeland broadcast. We here at Michigan Sports Radio apologize for the inconvenience and the issue should be resolved for next Friday’s contest.
